Mansfield Chambers' Criminal Defence Record
Mansfield Chambers is deeply committed to social justice, to realising and defending the rights of the disadvantaged and to standing with the powerless in the face of the powerful.
Mansfield Crime are fearless criminal advocates, with extensive experience of complex and controversial cases. Our members have defended clients facing the gravest allegations and are frequently involved in the most demanding and high profile cases.
Defending Human Rights against abuses of state power, our barristers have focused on protecting the twin freedoms at the centre of the right to protest- the Freedoms of Speech and Association. We have represented political activists in courts at all levels, and have presented legal justifications for actions taken by Environmental, Animal Rights and Peace activists, amongst others.
Our team has experience in complex fraud, large scale drugs importations and other factually demanding, data heavy work. Members of our team also have expertise in the related areas of Immigration, Prison and Public Law.
Committed to publicly funded work, Mansfield Chambers operate a new lean business model designed to enable us to provide the highest quality of legal services against a background of swingeing public funding cutbacks. Where public funding has failed completely, members have provided their services on a pro bono basis.
